How Much Does a 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training in Goa Cost? (2026-27)
Quick answer
At Alpesh Yoga in Arambol, the 22-day 200 hour yoga teacher training costs $700 for the course only, or $1,100 with a room and three vegetarian meals a day, in US dollars. Both prices include tuition, the manual, props and the Yoga Alliance certificate. Flights, visa, travel insurance and personal spending are extra. The course is led by Alpesh Patwari, who has 21 years teaching alignment and is one of the most experienced alignment teachers working today.
Most people who ask what a yoga teacher training in Goa costs are really asking two things: what will the school charge, and what will the whole trip cost me. This guide answers both. We are Alpesh Yoga, a school in Arambol, so our own prices are the ones we can state exactly. Where we mention other schools, the figures come from their own websites and are dated.

How much does a 200 hour yoga teacher training in Goa cost?
Among the Arambol schools we checked, a 200 hour yoga teacher training costs from about USD 600 for the course only to around USD 1,600 with a private room, and the biggest variable is whether food and a room are included. At our school the figure is $700 for the course only and $1,100 with food and stay, for a 22-day course at Arambol Beach.
Disclosure: Alpesh Yoga is our own school, so weigh our figures with that in mind. The other prices below are copied from each school’s own website, not from aggregators.
To show where that sits, here is what two other Arambol schools list on their own course pages, checked on 7 November 2026. Both pages also show a crossed-out higher figure beside each price; the table gives the current price, so ask each school in writing which number you will actually pay.

| School | Course only | With accommodation | Meals |
|---|---|---|---|
| Alpesh Yoga | $700 | $1,100 (room) | Three vegetarian meals a day in the with-stay price |
| AYM Yoga School | USD 599 | USD 799 dorm · USD 899 double shared · USD 1,049 private | Its page notes that lunch and dinner are not served on Sundays |
| Rishikul Yogshala | Not listed | USD 1,460 twin shared · USD 1,570 private | Vegetarian and vegan meals listed as included |
The honest reading of that table: a lower course-only price is easy to find, and the all-in figure is what you should compare. A cheap course with an expensive guesthouse can cost more than a dearer course with the room built in.
Are food and accommodation usually included in a Goa YTT?
Most residential teacher trainings in Goa offer food and accommodation as part of a package, but many also sell a cheaper course-only option, so "included" depends on the price you choose. Read the tier label, not just the headline number. "Course fee", "dorm", "twin share" and "private" are four different products.
We keep it to two prices. $700 is the course on its own. $1,100 adds your room near Arambol Beach for the full course and three freshly cooked vegetarian meals a day, plus tea and coffee. The difference, $400, covers your room for the whole course and three meals a day. If you have allergies or dietary needs, tell us when you apply and the kitchen will work around them.

What does the Alpesh Yoga course fee include?
Both of our prices include the full course, the teaching materials and the certificate; the with-stay price adds the room and meals. This is the list from the course page, word for word:
- Full course tuition with small-group, hands-on teaching
- Course manual and use of all yoga props
- Alpesh Yoga T-shirt and tote bag
- Welcome ceremony and graduation ceremony
- Yoga Alliance certificate on successful completion
- With-stay package: room near Arambol Beach for the full course
- With-stay package: 3 daily vegetarian meals, plus tea & coffee
- Help arranging airport pickup from Goa
Groups stay small, at around fifteen seats, so hands-on correction happens every day rather than now and then. Alpesh Yoga is registered with Yoga Alliance, so graduates can register as RYT 200. The school has trained teachers since 2014, with graduates from 40+ countries.
What is not included in the course fee?
Travel to Goa, your visa, insurance and your own spending are never in the course fee, at our school or at most others. Our course page lists these exclusions:
- Flights and travel to the campus
- Indian visa fees
- Travel insurance
- Personal expenses and excursions
A few notes on each, so none of them surprise you:
- Flights. Goa has two international airports. Manohar International (GOX) at Mopa is much closer to Arambol than Dabolim (GOI). We help arrange your pickup once your place is confirmed; the transfer itself counts as travel, which the fee does not cover.
- Visa. Most nationalities need an Indian tourist visa, applied for online before you travel. Fees and rules depend on your passport and change from time to time, so check the official Indian government e-Visa portal for your own nationality. We do not quote visa costs because they are not ours to state.
- Travel insurance. Choose a policy that covers yoga and the full length of your trip.
- Spending money. Snacks, cafes on your free afternoons, laundry, a SIM card, a scooter or taxi trips, and any excursions on your days off.
- If you take the course-only price, your own room and meals for the whole course. Arambol has plenty of guesthouses within walking distance of the shala.
Is course-only or food and stay cheaper?
Course-only is cheaper only if you can find a room and three meals a day in Arambol for less than $400 for the whole course. In the November to April season that is possible if you already know the village or are sharing with a friend, and harder if you are arriving alone in peak weeks.
There is a second cost that does not show on a receipt: time. Your training day runs from early morning to dinner, and a room that is a short walk from the shala and meals that are already cooked give that time back to study and rest. Choose course-only if you are staying in Goa for longer than the course, already have a place, or want to choose your own guesthouse.
Travelling as a couple? The couple package is $950 per person with food and stay, and we arrange a shared room for you.
How should I budget for a 200 hour YTT in Goa?
The simplest way to budget a 200 hour YTT in Goa is to add four numbers: the course price you choose, your return flight, your visa and insurance, and a spending allowance for the weeks you are there. Work through it in this order:
- Pick your tier. $700 course only, or $1,100 with food and stay. Write down which one, so you compare like with like.
- Price your flight to GOX or GOI for the dates you want.
- Check your visa on the official e-Visa portal and add its fee for your passport.
- Add travel insurance for the whole trip, not just the course.
- Set a spending allowance for cafes, laundry, a SIM, local transport and a day trip or two. If you chose course-only, add rent and three meals a day here too.
- Keep a margin for the days before and after the course, if you arrive early or stay on.
Booking early also helps. Our early-bird offer is published on Dates & Prices: $50 off any 100hr course or retreat, $100 off any 200/300hr course when you book 60+ days before your start date.
How do I pay, and when?
You pay nothing to apply; once we confirm your seat, a 30% deposit holds it and the balance is paid on arrival. On today's prices that deposit is $210 for the course-only price or $330 with food and stay. The balance is paid in cash or by transfer when you arrive in Arambol.
The deposit is not refundable, but it is fully transferable to any batch within 12 months. Read the refund policy before you pay, and ask any school you are considering the same question in writing.
Why do 200 hour course prices in Goa vary so much?
Prices for a 200 hour course in Goa vary mostly because of what is bundled in, not because of the hours taught. The main drivers are:
- Room type. Dorm beds, twin rooms and private rooms are priced very differently, and some schools quote only the cheapest.
- Meals. Three meals a day, two meals, or none. Check whether any days are excluded.
- Location and setting. A resort with a pool costs more to run than a village shala a minute from the beach.
- Group size. Small groups with daily hands-on correction cost more per student to teach.
- Who teaches. Ask who leads the course day to day, and how long they have taught.
- Discount display. Many pages show a crossed-out "original" price. Ask for the final figure in writing.
Is an affordable YTT in Goa a lower-quality one?
An affordable 200 hour YTT is not automatically a weaker one; what matters is who teaches, how small the group is, and whether the school is registered. Look the school up on the Yoga Alliance directory yourself, ask how many students each teacher works with, and read independent reviews, including the critical ones. You can read what our students say on our testimonials page.
At Alpesh Yoga the teaching is alignment-based Hatha with Hatha Vinyasa Flow, led by Alpesh Patwari, who has 22+ years of teaching and 21 years teaching alignment. The full course, the curriculum and the daily timetable are on the 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training in Goa page. If our style is not what you want to teach, a cheaper price elsewhere is not a saving; pick the method first.
