The Best Time for a Yoga Teacher Training in Goa (2026-27 Season Guide)

August 31, 20266 min readBy Alpesh Patwari

Goa is not a year-round destination, and that is the single most useful thing to know before you book a teacher training here. From roughly June to September the monsoon closes much of the coast; from late October to April the weather flips into a long, dry stretch of warm, sunny days — and that window is when every serious school on the coast, ours included, runs its courses. Pick your month well and you get sunrise practice on the sand in 25–32°C weather; pick it blind and you may find your dream school shut entirely.

Quick answer: when should I do a yoga teacher training in Goa?

Between late October and April — Goa’s dry season, when the coast is at its best and schools are actually open. Our 2026-27 season at Arambol Beach opens on 24 October 2026 with a 200 Hour Alignment TTC batch, then runs monthly batches through March. Travelling June–September instead? The same courses run at our Dharamshala campus in those months.

Here is the season as it actually stands at our school in Arambol — real batch dates, not general advice. Seats are confirmed within 24 hours of booking online, with no payment required to book.

Why October is the smart pick this season

  • You catch the coast before the crowds. The 24 Oct – 14 Nov batch runs as North Goa is waking up for the winter — the beach is quiet, guesthouses have space, and the village still feels local.
  • You graduate as the season peaks. Finish in mid-November as a certified RYT 200 with the whole Goa winter ahead of you — many of our graduates stay on to practice, assist and travel.
  • Cooler pricing, same course. The course itself is $700, or $1,100 with food and stay in every batch — but flights and rooms around the course cost less in late October than in the January-February peak.

What about June to September?

That is the monsoon on the coast, and we simply do not teach in Goa then — no honest school pretends the rain away. Our teaching moves to the Himalayas instead: the same 100, 200 and 300 hour alignment-based courses run at our Bhagsu campus above Dharamshala from May to September, with clear mountain days around 15–25°C. If your travel window is the European summer, that is your course.

How far ahead should you book?

Booking takes about two minutes and no money: you pick your batch online, we confirm availability within 24 hours, and a 30% deposit then holds your seat — transferable to any batch within 12 months if your plans move. Most nationalities need only an Indian tourist e-visa, applied for 2–3 weeks before travel. January and February batches sit inside North Goa’s peak travel season, so those are the two months where booking well ahead genuinely matters.
